Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum will keep floors clean enough to decrease the frequency you have to manually vacuum. Choose one that has an easy navigation, can clean stairs and corners and also has a large dust bin that needs emptying only once in a while.
There are also models that mop and charge themselves which can be beneficial for those with pets or children. The top performers in our tests have good obstacle avoidance.
1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO
The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling, the i3 EVO, are identical robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is a great option for those looking for a an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but are willing to manually empty the dust bin after it has filled up.
Both robots excel at picking up surface debris off carpets and hard floors and they are very good at moving around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes smart maps of your home, which help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ isn't able to feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or other top-rated robots we have test. It can get stuck on power cords or socks, and may have trouble navigating between different surfaces like carpet and hardwood.
iRobot recommends that you tidy the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or other clutter it might come across. It's also a good idea to keep the bin and filter clean so they do not become blocked by dirt. When the i3+'s internal bin is full or the battery is low, it returns to its docking station, automatically emptying its trash into the station's dust bin and then resumes cleaning the area where it left off. Battery life is about an hour-and-a-half of continuous usage. It takes about three hours to charge.
2. iRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model of the flagship line from iRobot, and it is equipped with the most recent features. It's self-charging, self-navigating and the most important feature of all -- it comes with self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the most important sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that allows it to create maps of rooms so that it can clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning jobs, and you can direct your robot using the app or via voice.
The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. The biggest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin that eliminates the main sources of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.
We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot to start or stop cleaning sessions and also to move around the room, and even vacuum a specific area. Click On this site of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and easy with the iRobot Home app. Once connected, to speak commands to the i7+ for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and monitoring the performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car in a world of vacuums powered by cordless that resemble minivans and buses. It is powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in most homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system is able to trap allergens and then releases fresh air into your home. Its specialized cleaning head drives stiff nylon bristles deep into carpet to suck up large dust and crumbs. It has three suction modes to match the task being performed. It can quickly change from handheld to floor vacuum and vice versa.
This model also has an accessory dock that can charge to 100% in about 3.5 hours, and gives users easy access to two attachments and the Wand clip. This is a huge improvement over previous Dysons that require a long charge and are difficult to store.
The V10's biggest drawback is its short run time. Its claims on the market that it has up to 60 minutes of run time are not true as CR's tests show. This is a standard, not exceptional, battery-powered cordless vacuum's running time. It's still enough time to vacuum the majority of a home that's average size, but not quite long enough to clean every area (though the second time around usually does the trick). This model has its own advantages however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than older Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is noticeably superior for carpet floors with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
The 694 is a basic robotic vacuum that's a great choice for those who don't have lots of money to invest in a robot. It could pick up the majority of types of debris in our tests and would often go over the same area many times to give an efficient clean. Its flat front end helps to get into corners and along the walls' edges and walls, which is a nice touch.
Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt technology to avoid obstacles and guide you through your home. It's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models, such as our top picks, i3+EVO and the j7+ Series. As a result, it can sometimes get stuck on things like phone cords or low furniture, and it often will run out of battery before making it back to its original location.
The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 because it has less parts that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, incurs lower recurring cost and is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and can better navigate itself. It also has a larger dustbin and can charge faster.
The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 in most purposes, because it has a better battery life, can change its suction power mode on its own and comes with physical boundary strips, and is controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It's also more robust, has a more powerful motor, and can perform better on low-pile and bare floors.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a household name in the field of home electronics. It's no surprise, then, that they are also among the top producers of robot vacuums and mop. Their Jet Bot AI+ is equipped with cutting-edge onboard technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.
The app gives you plenty of options to personalize your robotic cleaner, such as virtual barriers, mopping water levels and behavior customization, docking frequency settings, and more. The app is simple to learn and use as are other Samsung devices.
In our tests during our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and it removed 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). It was not as successful in avoiding taller items like socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's also a bit more expensive than the other models we tested which could be a problem for some shoppers.
Suggested Reading has an onboard camera that is accessible through the app, and you can also set up a live streaming from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to monitor your children or pets while you are away. The filter and the dustbin can be cleaned to ensure a quick, painless clean-up. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with an automatic clean station which helps keep the bin clean and maximizes suction power.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
In contrast to other robotic vacuums which are designed for both carpets and hard floors, Black and Decker robots are specifically designed for hard floors. They come with a wide cleaning path and a larger dustbin that holds twice as much debris than other models to keep the cleaning area clean for the longest time. They also include two side sweepers to clean around corners and edges. The POWERSERIES model includes AutoSense, which automatically adjusts the power level according to whether it's cleaning up dirt on the surface or embedded dirt. It also has a smart app that lets you view the virtual map and manage the functions and schedules. You can also check the status of the vacuum and then send it to its dock for charging at the press of a single button. The app allows you to customize the LED lights on top of the vacuum with different colors, so that you can clearly see the areas where it's focused or where it's gotten stuck.
The app also makes it easy to manually steer the robot in the event of need. My living room rug for example has a dark-colored border that can trip up some other robots. The HRV 425BL, however, continued to move across the border without ever registering the cliff. The ability to program a weekly cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving advantage.
